Upgrade from Vista RC 1 to RC 2???

OK, here’s the short story,

I ordered, received, and installed Windows Vista RC 1 on my computer.
Though I didn’t know it at the time, I wound up downloading Vista RC 2
(5744.16). I’ve already burned the image to a DVD and it does work.

What I’d like to know is can I just install RC 2 over RC 1 or do I have to
wipe the HD?

If I have to wipe the HD, am I missing anything from RC 2 to warrant this?

Thanks,

Andrew

Try and install-over. It worked here, and may work for you.

You can upgrade RC1 to RC2, this system I'm working from now was one.
I did not run into any issues other than having to reinstall my audio
drivers.

The upgrade from RC1 to RC2 was a disaster for me; the upgrade option failed
and could not complete the upgrade. But reinstall from scratch work for me.

Mario,

Usually I'm right with you on that one. I hate upgrades, but had to test
this one!

I decided to test the upgrade from RC1 to RC2 as well, worked pretty well.

I only had to reset a few preferences and re-install my sound card drivers.
I was going to do that anyway since Creative came out with a new version
recently, so all is good.

I'm just still having an issue with the display not turning off when it's
supposed to and the system not "sleeping" on idle.
I'd hoped that would have been fixed by now. It's similar to a problem I
had with early XP, certain screen-savers seem to cause the system to refuse
to suspend or turn off the display.
