Upgrade from ME to Windows XP

I currently have Windows ME and would like to upgrade to
XP ( I want to have word, access, excel and powerpoint)
How do I go about doing this? Do I simply install the
full XP Home software?

Hi,

If you are looking for Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, then you want to
purchase a copy of OfficeXP, not WindowsXP. Office suites contain the
programs you listed. WindowsXP is an upgrade to the Operating System (the
platform in which the applications/programs run). As you are running WinME,
you cannot use anything higher than OfficeXP (Office2003 will not run in
WinME).

To get to Windows XP, simply buy and install a copy a XP. You can
use either the Upgrade or Full editions. Since the Upgrade is
less expensive, that's what you should buy.

But regarding Word, Access, Excel and Powerpoint, if you want to
upgrade to XP so you can have these, you need to be aware that
neither Windows XP, nor any other version of Windows, has ever
come with these. You need to buy a copy of Microsoft Office
Profesional. You can install Microsoft Office (versions up to
Office XP) on your current operating system, or on Windows XP
(versions up to Office 2003, the currrent version).
