upgrade causes cd readability problems

I recorded some information (text, pictures,etc)onto a
cdrw when I had windows me. Now I have windows xp and
although "properties" shows the disk as full, it will not
show me what is on the disk. I just get a blank screen.
 
Install the same program that you used to write to the CD originally! Just
make sure you use the version for Windows XP.
