My apologies! The file is not called UPGMGR but UPDMGR.
Everytime I boot up my machine I get and error message
that my UPDMGR.exe programme is not working and will be
closed down. Does anybody know how to solve the problem?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Run these programs to check for spyware/malware. After installing
update them, then boot into safe mode and run them. You should update

That is the automatic windows update, being launched for a daily check.
Most probable source of trouble is that the service underlying it is
turned off. Go to Control Panel - Admin Tools - Services and look for
Automatic Update. If it does not say 'started' double click it and set
Startup type to Automatic. Click apply, then click Start and make sure
it does start
