My old computer has been replaced with a newer model but the new computer has
XP Home on it and my old one had XP Pro. I bought the XP PRo upgrade and
have the disk. My question is how do I install and use XP Pro on my new
computer which has XP Home on it?

insert disk run setup?
Run ad-aware software. Delete all files run disk cleanup.
make sure antivirus software is up to date run a full system scan then
disable it during install and disconnect internet access.
If you have installed SP2 you may have problems unless you slipstream it.

Backup all user data onto an external device/CD/DVD then upgrade and it
should go fine. The more prepared you are the fewer problems you will have

Run the Pro upgrade CD *from* the Home system. Enter Install, continue
with upgrade. Installed software and data should be retained, but back
up data first just in case of say power failure at a critical moment
