updating worksheet

How do I link one speadsheet in one workbook, to update when a
identical worksheet opens in another workbook
 
Just link them with formulas by putting = and selecting cells in th
usual way. So a formula in A1 of Book 2 would have :=
=[Book1]Sheet2!$A$1

You cannot update values in a closed workbook. When Book2 is opened, i
Book1 is open it will update automatically, otherwise you get th
message asking if you want to update
