I went to my power desk files and folder and found my outlook pst file. I
wanted to make a copy on a disk but i noticed that the date of this file is
from a couple of months ago. How do i update that file , before I make a
copy for storage?

What do you mean my "update the file". Outlook does all its work in the PST
currently designated at the delivery location. It is always up to date. If
that PST is your current PST, then there's nothing you need to do. Are you
sure the date on the file that you're examining is the modification date and
not the creation date?
