Updating Excel Worksheets in Word

I have created a Word doc with a number of Excel worksheets. These
worksheets have links to external spreadsheets. Right now when I update the
source document, the speadsheets in the Word doc don't update until I
physically go into the worksheet. Is there a way to get the embedded Excel
sheets to update as soon as the Word doc is opened?

Try Tools>Options>General and check the box for "Update automatic links at
Open"

Hi Jim-

In the Word doc, take a look at Edit>Links... to make sure the links are set
to Automatic Update.
