i am suppose to be receiving auto updates. last one is dated in july of 09. i
don't if a drivers needs to be downloaded as i had restored computer in
april. i feel i am missing important updates

Go to the MS windows update site and use the express update option. Don't
download drivers from the windows update site, if you should need drivers
then go to the manufacturers website for the hardware you have.

You need to have XP SP2 to receive auto-updates. However, it seems
that as of June - July 2010, "we" need to ba at XP SP3 to continue
with auto-updates.
