Updates

I have the new build 614. EVERY time I check for updates
MS anti-spyware updates definitions from 5725 to 5729,
just like version 613 was doing but they were 5725 to
5729. As
soon as it updates I check again and it updates the same
definitions again! This happens if I check as soon as I
update. It updates EVERY TIME! This program would be good
if they would fix it.

Can you see if the advice below allows you to work around this problem?

Place these files in your installation folder, typically c:\program
files\microsoft antispyware.

This is a well known problem. The easiest fix is to
download the updated definitions manually and place them in
your MSAS folder. Do not use the program to update, that
is broken. Instead get them at:

http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcDeterminationData.gcd
http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditScanData.gcd
http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditThreatData.gcd

Save these files in your MSAS directory overwriting the
older definitions.
