Updates onto disk?

Does anyone know how or know if it is possible to save the
updates onto a disk prior to reformatting a system so you
wont have to redownload them again

You will still have to redownload them. You can download and save them if
you wish using the Windows Catalog.

You can save some time downloading two bigger files fisrt:

Service Pack 1a
Rollup Package 1

Install those first; there are only a few post sp1a hotfixes not
included in Rollup 1.

Then go back to Windows Update, scan then download the updates not
included in Rollup 1.
