I am tired of all the updates that I must install. Why will Microsoft
not release a CD each month with all of the Windows updates on it?

The latested cd is Xpsp1a Feb 2003. I do not want to spend $10.00 on a
CD and then have to download -43 more patches.

I have Windows XP pro original. I want to re-install my system. I do
not want to have to install all of the patches of 2 years ago. A CD
would be nice, but not one that has -43 more patches after it. Can I
purchase a up to date CD for my re-install? Again I have the origianl
release of XP Pro. Paid $200.00 of my hard earned money for this
thing. Am not going to do that again.

Many times, a newer patch supercedes an older one. A complex piece of
software such as Windows is always a work in progress as a result. No Setup
with the installation of Critical and Recommended Updates will be exactly
the same if separated by more than a week or so in time. The ideal solution
is high-speed Internet. If you are spending that kind of money on CDs, then
a high-speed connection will quickly pay for itself.
