With XP Home Edition Add / Remove Programs I have many MS Updates and Hot
Fixes. Is there any reason to retain these? Some are 2 years old!

The purpose of holding on to them is in case a problem arises so you can
install that update. I would expect that if the problems haven't arisen in
two years, that should be long enough, eh? Of course if you have room,
there is no reason to leave them, or burn them to CD.

Doug Knox has an automated fix on his site to remove hot fix uninstall files
and after that their entry in Add/Remove programs.

Do not delete the $hf_mig$ folder. It's needed for future updates.
