I am getting this msg when I try to change the computer
name, I do not want to setup Active Directory the wizard
keeps poping up after I reboot I just want to make this
machine part of a workgroup with out having to install
active directory: This is the msg I get when I go into My
Computer Network Identification tab the properties button
is grayed out so I can not change it what can I do to work
around this? The identification of the computer cannot be
changed because: The computer is a domain controller
undergoing upgrade Please complete the Active Directory
Installation Wizard. Please send me the work around to my
email address (e-mail address removed)

Thanks

You have dine an inplace upgrade of NT4.0 to Windows 2000 Server, Your NT4.0
Domain is beginning be upgraded to an Active Directory Domain. You should
continue the wizard, if you don't want to run a domain you lose all your
existing accounts you had in your NT4.0 domain, If you will remove ad, run
dcpromo to demote it and remove it. How ever think two times before you do
that.
