I'm trying, unsuccessfully, to update to movie maker2. Got an error message
80070020... update failed. In looking at the troubleshoot site, the
suggestion was to open a registered packages folder with a bunch of #'s and
copy these files the program files\moviemaker folder. I found 2 folders, but
the #'s don't match up.
Should I copy those files anyway to moviemaker folder?

Other ideas to update? Really shouldn't be this difficult. Why won't it just
update?!!
 
MM2 is no longer available at any recognised download site, so if you are
downloading it you may well have a corrupt source. MM2.1 is the only
available upgrade now, which comes with SP2.

A tip I picked up at PapaJohn's site (I think) is, try deleting your
\Program Files\Movie Maker folder completely. It will be automatically
restored very shortly after - and try installing then.
