using windows Xp when igo to the update windows it tells
me it encounted an error occured and can not disdlay the
page. It leaves mewith an error message 0x800a1391. When
i go to update troublr shooter nothing hapens.

may be an active x problem. or spywares try spybot at
safer-networking.org update and scan on easy and remove junk.
also clear your cache and cookies. the windows update site
uses an active x to "better" serve you.
