When I click on Windows Update in my Start menu, nothing
happens. When I try to get to it through the web, I get
a blank page. Also, the search function won't load, and
I can't drag-and-drop anything. What would be causing
this?

I've seen this kind of thing happen when COM+ isn't operating.
To re-apply COM+ --> Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Next > Next > Finish

Also, make sure you have scanned for viruses and spyware.

Turn off any pop-up blocking software before going there,
it stops all functions of the WUD site after the "scan for

The Google pop up stopper doesn't do that.
