I see within Microsoft about windows 98 SE users can update to windows xp and downloads there. Can I do this?? Does it cost anything?? I am the registered owner of windows 98 SE!

I do not know what you are reading, but its not from Microsoft. If you
already have Windows XP as patches, or minor updates come out, you can
download those just like Windows 98 SE. But you have to go out and buy
Windows XP just like anyone else.

You'll have to purchase the Windows XP Upgrade CD
and upgrade over your current Windows 98SE installation.

The Upgrade Advisor is a tool you can download and install
to check if your system hardware and software are ready for
upgrading to Windows XP.

You sure can. You run to the store and BUY the upgrade version of either
Windows XP Home or Professional. Then you install it on your system. It will
upgrade Windows 98 to Windows XP.
