TaskSwitchXP is an advanced task management utility that picks up where
the standard Windows Alt+Tab switcher leaves off. It provides the same
functionality, and adds visual styles to the dialog and also enhances it
by displaying thumbnail preview of the application that will be switched
to.

Thanks for the link to TaskSwitchXP. I just downloaded & installed this
prog & it looks much better than the Windows alt-tab window
box/buttons. I recommend this program to everyone.

This prog shows a picture of the programs window instead of just an
icon. This isn't an automatic prog, you have to load it up to get it to
work but it is set-up in the preferences to load up whenever your comp
is started.

You're welcome. I use it myself (like everything I post here), and it's
really much, much better than alt-tab. Use it for a few years now, never
had any problem.

XP can show thumbnails too if you download its PowerToy version.

That's right, I've tried that too. But, if I remember well, TaskSwitchXP
has far bigger 'thumbnails'. And, besides that, it has much, much more
possibilities than PowerToy.
