Stickies
http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/
Stickies is a computerised version of post-it notes.
The design goal behind Stickies is that the program is small and simple.
Stickies will not mess with your system files, or write to the registry.
Stickies stores all information in a single text-based ini file.
Stickies will never support animated dancing figures, or play
"Greensleeves". They are instead yellow rectangular windows onto which you
can put some text notes. Once created, they will stay on screen until you
take them away. Just like a real sticky piece of paper.
New features
Much-requested cascading sleep values menu
Now able to use colons and semicolons in sticky titles
The five boxes in which you type a path will autocomplete from filesystem
Spaces can be represented in URLs with the %20 encoding (link to
"c:\program files" with "file://c:\program%20files")
12/24 hour format preference now taken from Windows, and if the Windows
date format changes, Stickies changes straight away rather than needing a
restart
Right-clicking a sticky which is alarming (sounding/jiggling/flashing)
causes it to snooze the alarm for five minutes
Works with Stickies Server v2 (available at a future date)
Fixes
No longer crashes when clicking buttons in styles dialog with nothing
selected in the list
A number of issues when working with custom network ports (not 52673)
identified and removed
Non-English month names will now be used when the OS is English but the
locale is not
Won't crash when trying PPC import on a machine without ActiveSync
installed
Won't log that networking was stopped unless it actually was
Option dialog no longer complains if you enter negative numbers for
snapping
Holding shift correctly toggles snapping while sizing
Text resizing when sizing left-hand side when left-hand side stays snapped
to position bug fixed
Problem saving friends groups with multi-level group comedown fixed (never
affected any user AFAIK)
Control-Shift-D labelling error on task tray menu corrected
Semicolons in titles no longer mess with sleeping stickies
Favourite friend menu will now appear if email is on but networking is off
Stickies jiggling with an alarm have their correct location saved, not
their jiggled position
Those with a German keyboard layout can now type a backslash (Alt Gr and
the key next to 0)
Setting a style which uses transparency when stickies are opaque while
editing now will keep the sticky opaque until you move away from it
Printing under W98
Using the "Close on send" option with multiple recipients no longer causes
a crash
The "-hidden" command line option works now
Control-Windows-s (reveal secret stickies) also removes any tray icon
balloon showing
Changes
Stickies now works under Windows 98 with no additional installs required
Control-g changed to be "sleep until tomorrow" (Go away!), and opening log
file is now control-shift-g
The bottom border of a sticky can be used to call up right-click menu again
More informative error logging performed when failing to connect to an SMTP
server
Deleting sleeping stickies honours the "Ask before deleting" option
Starting Stickies Store from the right-click menu will try 5 times at 1
second intervals before giving up
Sleeping and closing stickies is logged to file when Debug level is set
More robust internal structure implemented
