update suggestion

Hi, I am running Windows XP Home with my automatic update feature turned on
and I check routinely for updates. For the past couple months when I start
up my system tells me there are updates available and displays the gold
shield icon on the taskbar. I checked to see what the update was and is for
Office 2003. As far as I know I do not have that current of a version
installed so I do not need that update. I humbly suggest that Microsoft stop
announcing that update so I don't get bugged by the reminder every time I
start up.
Sincerely,

1. Configure your system to NOT tell you when updates are available.

2. Remember to manually check for updates now and then.

3. Tell the update system to not tell you about updates you are not
interested in.

To whom are you making this suggestion? If you think you are talking to
Microsoft here, that's not the case. This is a peer to peer support
newsgroup. Everyone here is a volunteer. Though occasionally an MS
employee will post here they do so on their own, not officially representing
MS.

If you want things to change on your system then you need to take care of it
through the settings on your system.
