Update says it's current but it's 21 days old

I installed Windows Defender on my test machine and told it to update. After
clicking update, about 30 seconds pass and then it says its up to date. But
I have an exclaimation point warning about being 21 days old.

I run ISA 2000 and WSUS on my network. My AD runs a group policy pointing
to the WSUS server for updates. Is Windows Defender only checking my local
WSUS server?

UPDATE!

This is caused by having a locally installed WSUS server. Since my machine
is pointing to my internal WSUS server via AD Group Policies, Windows
Defender was trying to retrieve it's updates from there.

In the Synchronization Options, I needed to add Windows Defender to the list
of Products, and Defnintion Updates to the Update classifications. I then
ran a sync and once my machine checked in and updated, Windows Defender was
current.

Thanx - just checked my WSUS server and it had downloaded a new sig file -
approved for install, ran manual update, actually worked! I liked the way
Windows/Office does it's updates - auto from WSUS, manually from MS.

Terrific--I think this complete change of mechanism has thrown some folks
for a bit--but in the long run I think most will strongly prefer the new
scheme.
