Update problem

I keep getting a notification for an update that has already been installed.
If I go ahead and install it again, within seconds the notification icon is
back. I know the update has been installed, because it appears in the Add
Remove Software list.

Try this workaround:
1) uninstall the update
2) reboot
3) reinstall the update
4) reboot to see if the change is reflected

Jeff,

You can either post to the Windows Update newsgroup
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroups/reader.mspx?dg=mic
rosoft.public.windowsupdate&lang=en&cr=US)

In Outlook Express:

microsoft.public.windowsupdate

or you can go to the http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Click the CUSTOM button & expand this update when its found & click don't
notify you again. A similar thing can be done on the Automatic Updates by
clicking the icon that appears near the clock, click CUSTOM install...

Hopefully this should solve your problem,
