update problem

I'm trying to do an update of and xP Pro machine with a legit license. It
is still running XP sp1. When I try to update it I get a message that says
updates were not able to be succesfully installed.
 
the message I get is Software Upgrade for Some Windows Components Required.
and then the download and install Now. Well they try to download but I get
a message saying that it failed.
