if it's now payware (which would leave the OP open to some flaming) it
would need to be much faster at doing several mundane imaging tasks..

but as far as freeware goes.. it's a credible program ... especially
considering the time it was written in .. wasn't it written to showcase
the ease in which a program can be written with .net? I seem to
remember reading an article..

That's just the way Fileforum does things. I think they sell custom
freeware compilation CDs or something. The "Download Now" button gets
you the program free.

Also, the Paint.net site is still soliciting donations, and that usually
indicates that the program is free. That is unless commercial software
programs are going to start including that kind of thing on their site
in order to maximize the bottom line.... 80)>

Oh, one more thing:

http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/features.html

says the following:

"Open Source and Free
Paint.NET is provided free-of-charge, and the source code (all 105,000
lines of it) is also available for free under generous licensing terms.
The bulk of Paint.NET is written in C#, with only a small amount of code
related to setup and shell-integration written in C++."

I don't reply to trolls like Andy Mabbett, Doc (who uses sock puppets)
or Roger Johansson, for instance. No adware, cdware, commercial
software, crippleware, demoware, nagware, PROmotionware, shareware,
spyware, time-limited software, trialware, viruses or warez for me, please.

Hi,
I didn't notice the link, otherwise maybe I should have said it.
I only mention software here I use myself, so I'm absolutely sure it's
freeware and it's not completely worthless rubbish, just to get you to a
paid version of something.
Just today I downloaded the freeware PDFill PDF Editor. Really freeware,
they only include a trial of the paid version. No ads, no watermarks,
nothing. Very nice people, too good to be true. On installing it said in
small letters they add a watermark. That kind of 'freeware' I don't even
mention here.
By the way: I pay for some software too )
