It's all new high-end Babya image and photo manipulation software
designed to be used on computers that run Windows 2000, XP, Vista,Mac
OS X (for Intel based Macs with Boot Camp), or Server 2003. It supports

and powerful tools.

Based on Paint.NET, which started development at Washington State
University as an undergraduate senior design project mentored by
Microsoft, and is currently being maintained by some of the alumni that
originally worked on it.

Originally intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software
that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple tool
for photo and image editing. The programming language used to create
Paint.NET (and Babya Photo Workshop too) is C#.

Babya Photo Workshop Extreme Features:

Simple, intuitive user interface:
Every feature and user interface element was designed to be immediately
intuitive and quickly learnable without assistance. It is also designed
to be immediately familiar to users of the original MS Paint software
that comes with Windows or Babya Photo Workshop.

Layers:
Usually only found on expensive or complicated professional software,
layers form the basis for a rich image composition experience. You may
think of them as a stack of transparency slides that, when viewed
together at the same time, form one image. One of the most requested
additions is now in Babya Photo Workshop Extreme .

Powerful Tools:
Babya Photo Workshop Extreme includes simple tools for drawing shapes,
including an easy-to-user curve tool for drawing simple splines or
Bezier curves. The facilities for creating and working with selections
is powerful, yet still simple enough to be picked up quickly. Other
powerful tools include the Magic Wand for selecting regions of similar
color, and the Clone Stamp for copying or erasing portions of an image.
There is also a simple text editor, a tool for zooming, and a Recolor
tool.

Unlimited History:
Everybody makes mistakes, and everybody changes their mind. To
accommodate this, every action you perform on an image is recorded in
the History window and may be undone. Once you've undone an action, you
can also redo it. The length of the history is only limited by
available disk space.

Special Effects:
Many special effects are included for perfecting your images.
Everything from blurring, sharpening, red-eye removal, and embossing
are included. Also included is our unique 3D Rotate/Zoom effect (new
for Babya Photo Workshop Extreme) that makes it very easy to add
perspective and tilting.

Adjustments are also included which help you tweak an image's
brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, and levels.

Open Source and Free:
Babya Photo Workshop Extreme is provided free-of-charge, and the source
code is also available for free under generous licensing terms.

So with the layers,Vista and powerful image correction in Babya Photo
Workshop Extreme, you will be starstruck and maybe you'll want to
download the source code for Paint.NET (it's based on that), so you can
create your own take on it.

What will your computer need to have so you can use Babya Photo
Workshop Extreme?

The requirements are higher than Babya Photo Workshop/ Babya Photo
Workshop XL:

Windows XP (SP1 or later), Windows 2000 (SP3 or later), Windows Server
2003, or Mac OS X with Apple Boot Camp, Windows Vista
..NET Framework 2.0
400 MHz processor (Recommended: 800 MHz or faster)
128 MB RAM (Recommended: 512 MB or more)
1024 x 768 screen resolution
50+ MB hard drive space
64-bit support requires a 64-bit CPU that is running an x64 or Itanium
edition of Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, and 256 MB RAM
Please note that Paint.NET and Babya Photo Workshop Extreme uses your
hard drive to store temporary files related to undo/redo. Because of
this, actual disk space requirements will depend on the type of actions
you perform on an image, and on the size of the image.
