nLite v0.99 Beta

Overview :

nLite is a little bit of a slipstreamer, customizer, reducer and iso
creator all in one package. Works for every version of Windows XP
installation, so far tested up to slipsteamed SP2 build 2135. To avoid
confusion, this is for pre-installation, not like XPlite which is post
installation customizer. This is something like 98lite or jdeboeck's
scripts. It's written in C# (.NET) so you will need Framework to run
it.

What's New:

- page selection (use just selected features)
- improved driver integration (SATA, RAID and SCSI supported)
- translation support (external lang file)
- hotfixes integration support
- detection of ident file presence
- option to disable HDD free space requirement
- option to disable nLite post cleanup
- fixed dosnet leftovers
- fixed tcpip patch for '-1' (internet connection broken)
- oem branding optional
- combined Manual Install and Upgrade
component removal:
- SNMP Service
- Performance Logs and Alerts Service
- Tcp/Ip Version 6
- IPSEC Policy Agent Service
- Windows Time Service
- Service Advertising Protocol
- NetShell Cmd-Tool
- NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Protocol
- Client for Netware Networks
- WebClient Service
- Command-Line tools (experimental)
- Event Log Service(experimental)

Anybody use nLite? How does it compare with the payware XPLite?

Thanks for your comments in advance.

Anybody use nLite? How does it compare with the payware XPLite?

I myself took the plunge and tried it, using ver .99.1b which has some
presets.

I chose the 'lite' option which included IE so I marked IE also for
removal. Final size came to about 140mb. Produced a working, bootable
CD with which I installed the lite version of XP. So far so good.

Problem: When I wanted to check the hardware profile it complained
that it will not work unless IE 5.5 or later was present. So I tried
to install IE 5.5 and now it says that IE is not a software approved
by Microsoft :-(

So how do I now install IE, is there workaround?

TIA for any help/suggestion.

(I have not tried any other non-Microsoft programs yet. I am waiting
to install the proper drivers before I do that)
