Here's what's new in Firefox 1.5.0.1:

* Improved stability.
* Improved support for Mac OS X.
* International Domain Name support for Iceland (.is) is now
enabled. * Fixes for several memory leaks.
* Several security enhancements.

Replying to myself:
Just installed it over 1.5, it kept all my settings.
About 'improved stability': it crashed the very first time...
About 'fixes for several memory leaks': good job, v1.5 stayed in memory
for a while after closing, this one doesn't.

This is so typical Mozilla. They cannot even get that right. Opera rules.

Mine did too. Downloads automatically and asks you if you want to restart.
Say yes and everything was fine. No problems here!

No, really. I'm totally serious about the pile of sh** that is Mozilla and
all theor derivates.

I guess you must have downloaded a bad version then. No problems with
here Firefox (and Thunderbird is running smooth too). This couldn't
be said when it was still called Phoenix or Firebird, but IMO that's
in the past.

Okay, so what's the best, do I uninstall the old before installing the
new? The old being 1.0.+ .

Uninstall extensions, then Fx and then installing 1.5 worked great for
me when I upgraded from 1.0.7. Your profile (bookmarks, settings, ...)
won't be erased.

And it checks automatically if some extensions need to be updated or
that they won't work after the update!

The auto-install is a nice improvement. Settings kept. Opened in 1/4 the
time of 1.5. Didn't crash for me. Was surprised to see an FF/goggle
search page show up once, but it did NOT replace my std homepage.

What a pleasure with the update for 1.5. Installation went smoothly,
except now 3 of my extensions will not work until an update is
available for them. Fortunately they are not critical to me. In
"tools", "extensions", Firefox confirms that these extensions will not
work at this time.

My update from 1.5 to 1.5.0.1 refused to work about 5 times last
night. The first time I closed and reopened it tonight it worked. Go
figure.

The update function works fine :-)
My update worked fine and im using portable firefox. I was actually
surprised. I like the portable version, I put it on my hard drive and
sinc it with my jump drive and I take it with me.

I had no problems installing it overtop 1.5, except that FavIcon Picker was
not compatible. I had to manually edit the xpi to make it compatible. No
crashes so far here.

Conflicts with some of your installed extensions or themes?

It's a final.

A final till the next final !

And its still toying around.

Extensions for THIS and extensions for THAT.

Oops ..... the extensions for THIS still work with this version, but the
extensions for THAT are now broken.

Maybe by version 10 they will get operability and functionality built
into the dang thing. Why doesn't it just WORK, without having to load 3rd
party extensions ...... thats the same as having to use BHO's in IE,
maybe even worse.

Somehow I seem to doubt it will ever 'WORK' seamlessly though.
