Can anyone help!
I work with asp.net web pages and installed IIS on my
home pc which has XP Professional edition. But after it
has downloaded several updates automatically, this has
stopped me from viewing asp.net pages in my browser. I
get an error that the web server not available.Does
anyone know which update I should uninstall or if I need
to re install IIS???

Thank you.

You do not have to reinstall IIS. You can do a System Restore, a neat trick
that puts your software into an earlier configuration. You just have to
select the date. Data and settings do not change. You will have to reinstall
programs you added after the Restore Point date. With regard to the Updates,
first, consider whether you actually need them! Then, if you do want them,
add them back one at a time, rebooting and testing after each one. Automatic
Updates are not a bad thing, but you should opt for the "Notify me before
installing" choice.

System Restore: go to Help and Support for an explanation and Wizard.

Thanks for your help but I am dont know too much about
system restore and not keen on trying that unless I have
to. Can i just un install some updates? if so, do you know
which ones? You cant tell which updates are getting
installed until after they've been installed( you see this
on the add/remove programs option). This is whether you
download automatically or manually do them via the wizard.

You are right about not being able to see the updates until they are
installed. I wish I could tell you which Updates to remove. Unfortunately,
do not know. You did not mention how many Updates you installed prior to the
problem appearing. If it is not too many, it may make sense to remove them
all and reinstall one at a time. Good luck.
