update discs

I wish to update an XP system but doing so by downdloads
would take over 2 hours. I understand that one can order
free update discs, question is, how?

You can order SP1a from Microsoft. When SP2 comes out, I am sure you will be
able to order that also. They have a track record now! Check here, near the
bottom!
