Hi
How does one up load data, that one backsup/saves on a CD, for example: "My
Documents, Favorites etc.? This senario assumes that one has lost data or it
has been corrupted. Thanks.

Hi,

In general you can just copy/paste it from the CD into the chosen
directories on the system via Windows Explorer. You can choose to overwrite
existing data in the process. Some things, like favorites, are easiest done
by importing an .htm file (but you would've had to initially export it to
one to do this).

You mean how to copy saved data from a cd onto your computer? Put the cd
in the drive. If you get the autoplay "wizard" use it to open the cd
and view the files. Otherwise, just go to My Computer and double-click
on the icon for the cd drive. If the window covers the entire desktop,
use the middle button on the top right of the window to make it
smaller.

Now go to where you want to put the files - usually My Documents - by
double-clicking My Documents. If the window is too big, make it smaller
like you did before. You should now have two windows on the screen.

In the cd window, select the files you want to copy, right-click and
drag over to the My Documents window. When you let go of the right
mouse button, you'll get a choice-menu. Left-click on "Copy".

Is that what you wanted to know? If you need more help, post back. You
might consider having a local professional or knowledgeable friend come
over to give you some training. I'm not saying this to be hurtful; I do
this for clients all the time and it helps them to be more at ease with
their computers, happier and more productive.

You can't "upload" data from a CD. Uploading/download involves moving
data over a LAN or over the Internet.

You can copy the data from a CDR(W) to a location you choose - but the
data will more than likely be read-only after you copy it and you'll
have to change the R/O attribute to use the files normally.
