Up button in Explorer?

Does anyone know where the Up a Level button went in Windows Explorer?
"Back" just doesn't cut it in all instances.

I do computer tech support for my company and I can't believe I'm
having such problems with this operating system.

Please let me know if you know where to find and add it.

Thanks.

p.s. Here are some of my recent discoveries:

1. Documents & Settings folder - > Users folder
2. My Computer - > Computer
3. My Documents - > Documents
4. In the classic view in the Control Panel, Display ->
Personalization. (Oooh... they'll never be able to find that.)
5. FILE, EDIT, VIEW menu is gone in most Office stuff - > good luck
finding it under the big circle.
6. Unchecking transpareny for your title bars speeds up things if you
can't switch to Classic and avoid it altogether.
7. Right-click the big circle (a.k.a. START) and left-click
Properties, click the Start Menu tab, click Customize on the Start
menu and you can add Run, Printers, and other previous items back on.

It has been replaced by the Breadcrumbs functionality of the Address Bar,
which now has clickable folders.

Sorry, I don't know what the 'breadcrumbs functionality' means. Please can
you explain? (sorry to be so thick)

When you see: C:\This\That\TheOther in Windows Explorer,
you can click on C:, This, That, or ThOther to go to those
locations. They are called bread crumbs because, as you
descend in the folder tree, it keeps track of where you are,
and how you got there.

Another feature of the way breadcrumbs work, versus the Up button in
previous Windows versions, is that if you open a parent directory using a
breadcrumb, the child directory will be highlighted in the Explorer window,
which it wasn't in, say, Windows XP: this is a helpful indicator, so that
you don't get "lost" (back to the H and G metaphor...). For example, if
you're currently looking in the folder C:\Program Files\Windows Mail, and
click on Program Files in the address bar, Windows Mail will be highlighted
in the main window.

You had to find out about it here, didn't figure it out on your own huh?

OK sorry I can't figure it out - please explain! What is 'breadcrumbs
functionality"?

Open Explorer, go into a subdirectory under your Documents, then hold
your mouse over where it says "> Your Name > Documents > Subdirectory >"
and notice that you can click on "Documents" and it takes you back
there. You can also click on "Your Name" and it will back you out that
farther.

In other words, instead of a single "Up" button, you can go as far up as
you want.

Second, when you do go up, the subfolder you just left is now selected.

OK thank you, very helpful. I now understand how to do that. What has it to
do with breadcrumbs?
