Unzip files

I recently got an iriver MP3 player and am trying desperately to install an
update as specified in my instructions. My computer won't install anything
(it says the correct software can't be found even though I inserted the CD)
and when I go to the iriver update site, it tells me to download and unzip.

How do I unzip? I need help. Nothing is working like it says it should.
