Unwanted Toolbar

A user of mine was tricked into installing some piece of
pop-up software when she visited a website. Now some
search bar pops up along the bottom of the screen each
time she opens IE6 (SP1). When I right-click the toolbar
in the browser I see: Standard Buttons, Address Bar,
Links, Lock the Toolbars, and at the bottom is something
called "rgrbrfiiest". I've been all through the
add/remove programs and the program files folder but can't
find a way to uninstall it.

Has anyone seen this? Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Best help you'll get from www.winguides.com. There are gurus to help you get
rid of spyware. But first you can get Ad-Aware from Lavasoft and scan the
infected pc with it. There are also other similar tools.

Try right-clicking that "rgrbrfiiest" toolbar and seeing if there is a
disable/uninstall option. Or see if that toolbar has a menu with a
disable/uninstall option.
Failing that, visit the Web site that the software was installed from and
find the help reference/FAQ/e-mail contact information etc. for that toolbar
and ask how to remove the toolbar. If that also fails try uninstalling and
then re-installing IE6sp1 (uninstall:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;293907).
