Unwanted processes

Two processes from a recent program i used were not
uninstalled when I uninstalled the program using
add/remove programs. The uninstall was successful in that
no errors were reported and a pop-up stated the uninstall
was successful. The processes appear at startup but are
not listed in the system configuration utility start list
or spybot's startup list.
The options i have...
I can kill the proccesses everytime I start my computer
(I'm not that tolerant).
I can delete the file that contains the .exe programs(that
leaves garbage in the registry).
Or, I can ask what the right way would be to completely
eliminate an unwanted process.

I think i'll delete the program file then run the three
registry programs Wesley Vogel mentioned in his reply
to, "Registry Cleaner??"
