There is a folder on my desktop that is created by a certain program when it
runs and I would like to delete it. However, when I try to it says that
access is denied. I am an administrator and I have checked the effective
permissions which indicate that my user id has full control.

What other access permissions do I need to get rid of this folder? What
other reasons could there be to deny access?

Yeah, had the same problem. Very annoying!

There is a workaround though. Delete the individual files in the folder
first, and then you can delete the top folder.

I tried everything......I not that computer literate. I tried deleting every
folder and then the head folder. I tried turning the computer off, etc.
Nothing works.

These empty files are growing like a big Christmas tree.

Help!!!

Have you checked for Malware . Run a few online scans for Malware and AV aside from Spybot and AdAware and see what it will pick up. Also run Hijack This .

What are the names of these folders? Vista has virtual folders and I
wonder if these are your problem.

Also what is this "a certain program" and is it Vista compatible?
