unwanted file

i have got a file on my desktop and i cannot
deleteit.every time i try it says "cannot delete file it
is being used by another person or programme shut down
process then delete

Shut down all programs running (even those on the taskbar)
and try.

START-RUN-CMD to open a command prompt.

CTRL-ALT-DEL and bring up the task manager.

End Process explorer.exe

go to the command prompt and DEL filename

Go to the task manager, start a new process of Explorer.exe.
