Hi,

I'm having trouble deleting a file i have downloaded the name of the file is
bridge.exe and it is on my desktop, i want to remove it but cannot everytime
i try and delete it i am advised that cannot be deleted as it is using being
used by another person or program.
I cannot find the process running in Task manager and it seems to start
automatically on startup, i have set all of the settings on Msconfig to the
core processes needed so i can delete it when windows starts but it sill
starts when i boot it up.

i've looked on google for bridge.exe and have found a trojan by this name,
however from what is listed on these sites i can find none of the files that
are supposed to be attributed to this on my comp.

I have scanned the file with 3 different virus programs and they all say
that the program is clean.

The program is not listed in add/remove programs either.

Please can someone help me sort this out as i am stuck and have done
everything i can think of to try and resolve this.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi,

As far as i can see it isn't a trojan, i downloaded the file trying to find
a game of bridge (the card game) i've cheked the program with virus programs
and it says that its clean, i think it is just coincidence that the program i
have doesnt work and the fact there is a trojan by the same name.

IF you could offer any suggestions i would be very thankful!

most games provided
show you screen shots,
like here:

http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/category.aspx?bcatid=922&tabid=1&dl=1

however, it is likely
the parent program for
that bridge.exe is running
in real time. maybe monitoring
or standing by to start bridge.exe.

you could try to look around inside
the folder for those files and
look for a file called
uninstall or remove or unwise.

if there is one, then click it
to begin the uninstallation.

if one is not found, then go
to control panel > add/remove
programs.

look down the listing for
any entries that have the
same or similar names of
the folder where bridge.exe
exists.

you can also sort the listing
by date and see if the program
shows up near the top or bottom
of the listing.

you might also open the
browser and review your
history of urls that you
visited. then go back to the
site where you downloaded that/those
files and see what the instructions
are for removing their program.

provide that url in your
next posting if you still
cannot clean up your pc.
