unwanted "favorites" and hijacked homepage

Ken Abbott

I must have visited some sites that not only left me with some
unwanted favorites that won't go away (they restore themselves after I
get ris of them), but also left me with a home page I don't want that
also seems to restore itself after I change it. I neutered the links
by changing the actual underlying link ("mixed porn" send me to
cnn.com), but I want to make them go away. There must be some
malicious script somewhere that NAV has not detected.

Any ideas?

Download both of these programs:
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org
Ad-aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
It is recommended you have both programs (or
alternatives) on top of your Anti-Virus Program
Once you have installed them, check for updates then run
them. I would run Adaware first quarantine everything it
finds (kill some things if you are sure you won't need
them) reboot, then run Spybot. Kill all red entries.
