Unwanted display during Boot Up

B

Birdie

When I boot (start) my computer, right after leaving
Windows Entry screen I get a full screendisplay showing a
Big, bright moon shining on a light blue mountain. This
stays on the screen for about 39 seconds. Then it
procedeeds to my Desktop with my selected image.

My display setup shows my selected Desktop image. It does
not show the "moon - mountain" image as being available.

I cannot "find" any image that matches the image that
comes up during my boot!!

Also I cannot get my computer to accept Hot Keys.

I have Windows XP Home Edition with all critical updates
installed

Why it's popping up, I don't know.

On Win9x/ME, there was a buglet that if you didn't first set the
background display to "None" before setting a different wallpaper,
you'd see the former wallpaper when starting up. The workaround was to
first set the wallpaper to "None", click Apply and then set the
background to the new wallpaper. I haven't seen that behavior on XP,
but see if doing that works for you.
