Unwanted changes

Fredrik

Hi
Sometimes when I send a mail which " it changes to R21;
when the recipient get it. I have had the same problem
with office 2000, XP and 2003 on Windows 2000. I have a
Swedish Outlook and Swedish keyboard.

Another problem I experienced is that sometimes when I
replay a mail something that looks like html code appear
at the beginning of the mail when the recipient get it.

/* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-
name:"Normal tabell"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-
tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-
parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-
margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-
pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-
family:"Times New Roman";}

I've looked on the internet but haven't found any answers
on these problems, are there anyone who experienced this
and know how to fix it.

/Fredrik

Hi Fredrik,

Thank you for posting here.

You indicated two problems in your post.

As for the first issue, it appears related the specific language of your
Outlook. Unfortunately, we are only able to assist in English version of
Outlook in this newsgroup. So please re-post the first issue in your local
language newsgroups for further assistance. Thank you for your
understanding.

As for the second problem, please first confirm if it occurs on particular
client workstation and it doesn't occur on other workstations with
different version of Outlook. If it is true, then try the following steps
to resolve the issue:

You indicated that when HTML-based e-mail content is received by Outlook,
additional characters are displayed instead of the literal text. I assume
you are using Outlook 2003.

1. New Profile
==========

Please first create a new profile to isolate the issue. For the steps on
how to create a new profile, refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge
Base (KB) article:

829918 How to create a new e-mail profile in Outlook 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829918

If the issue persists, continue with the following steps:

2. Outlook Safe Mode
=================
a. Click Start, and then point to Programs.
b. Press CTRL while you click the shortcut for Outlook that you want to
start.
c. Hold down CTRL until you receive a message similar to the following:
"Outlook has detected that you are holding down the CTRL key. Do you want
to start Outlook in safe mode?" Click Yes.

3. New Windows Profile
====================
Create a new account, and log on as the new one. Then test to see if the
issue disappears in new windows account.

Hope this helps.

Thanks & Regards
Alan Sun
