Unwanted Border around B&W Notes Page

J

John Michl

Suddenly I have a border printing around the entire notes page (not
around the slide or notes area -- the entire page.) Options > Frame
Slides is unchecked. The border is visible print preview and
sometimes is partially missing if another object overlaps with it.
Using PPT 2002 with all service packs. Help would be appreciated.

Note - I printed this document three months ago with no issues.

Are you printing to a black and white printer? Try selecting print color,
even though it is a black and white printer and see if the problem resolves.

Also, I'm sure you have checked the notes pages and notes page master for
any unwanted shapes (used the tab to cycle thru all the shapes on the notes
master to make sure there are no poorly visible shapes).

Thanks Bill. I've checked the master and couldn't find any extra
boxes or shapes. It is interesting that what is appearing is a
rectangle that is 1/2 inch from every edge. This is happening
regardless of the printer. I've tried to two different B&W printers,
and Adobe PDF set to B&W. My problem is that I need to print to PDF
in B&W and then send that file to a printer. Saving the PDF in color
and then having the printer use it for B&W is unpredictable.

Just to close the loop...I didn't figure out why I had the unwanted
border. However, I still had the original presentation that I had
copied from yesterday. I checked that one and it did not include the
border so I simply made another copy and deleted the half dozen
unwanted slides. No border this time but also no reason for the
original problem.

Since I've seen a few other posts of a similar nature, it seems like
PPT acts as if the Frame Slides box is checked even though it is not.
I'm good to go now but it sure would be nice to solve this problem for
others.

If you'd like to send me a one or two page version of the problem file I'd be
happy to have a look. email to steve atsign pptools dot com and attach a SMALL
version of the file, copy/paste the text below into the body of the email (reminds
me what it's about)
