show as "visited" (plum color instead of blue) even after clearing cache
(incl. offline content) and cookies. This seems to happen on only one
particular website that I visit regularly. It's the kind of thing that
really shouldn't matter, but still drives me nuts. Thanks for any ideas or
remedies.

Tom,
Clearing the History (Internet Options> General) may correct this. Or, you
may have a corrupted History folder or index.dat file.

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when
you restart.
Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Thanks, Don...the "free history eraser" did the trick...presumably by
erasing the index.dat file!
