Does anyone know why when I boot up my computer running
Windows 2000 it runs very slowly. Eventually I can get
Task Manager to show and I have been able to deteremine
that the scchost.exe file is using about 90% of the
processor. I do know what scchost.exe is actually for can
anyone tell me how to determine that and also how to stop
it. I have been able to stop the process but each time I
reboot, the process resumes and ties up the processor.

Hello,

I did a search on Google's web site and found that scchost.exe is part of a
virus. You will need to update your anti-virus software and run it to
remove the virus. If want more information on this virus, search on the key
word "scchost.exe" on Google and you will get several links with information
regarding this virus.
