I have been instructed by a third party software vendor
to remove two hotfixes due to network degradation. The
hotfixes are 810577 and 811493. On some of my company's
systems, the remove program module of control panel can
handle the removal of these service packs...but on two of
these systems, the hotfixes are not listed in the remove
programs module of control panel (the SP2 version is not
listed either) and furthermore, these systems do not have
uninstall folders in the winnt directory (probably
because they were preloaded in a group from the
manufacturer). I have verified the hotfixes exist in the
registry and do not know how to remove these hotfixes.
..

If they aren't showing up in add/remove programs, they were likely not meant
to be uninstalled. I'd investigate w/ Microsoft before trying to 'hack' them
out.

If you applied them yourself and they cause problems, you
can call microsoft phone support and they will help you
resolve any problems they cause for free. I have done
this twice but it was an immediate problem that happened
after applying a new update. When I explained it to the
tech screener they went ahead and put me through with the
understanding that if it was unrelated to the updates I
would have to pay the $245 for the call to get it resolved.
