MS Update 943460 Breaks VPN

I use MS XP Pro sp3 and after to install a series of hotfix i realize after a
feew days that the VPN is briken . When I attempting to connect with VPN it
will give me the message "Error 800: Unable to establish connection".

Browsing the internet I found this page that describe the same problem.

That exacly match my problem , but now I can't uninstall ( roolback) the
hotfix anymore. It was not more listed in add/remove program.

Does anyone can help me to solve this problem?

That 'page' shows that the issue was posted on Nov 23, 2007.
KB943460 *is* included in XP SP3 so the system should *not* have been
prompted to install it.

List of fixes that are included in Windows XP Service Pack 3

Were you prompted to install KB943460 by Automatic Updates or when
visiting one of the MS update sites ?

Very strange. I do an automatic update and i remember it propose me about 45
fix ( could it be for MS xp proSP3?). I do them all and I detect the vpn
problemafter that updates.

I suspect (if SP3 do not have all that fix) somthing is going wrong with
automatic update procedure.

Now I wish try to identify the and solve the problem without reinstall
Windows.
I run SP3 again yesterday without success .

From your post, KB943460 was not installed prior to the application of
SP3, correct ?
It was only offered after the application of SP3, correct ?

IF SP3 installed it, then verify the Version of these files. They are
located in WINDOWS\system32 and the Version and Size shown are post
installation of *ALL* security updates for XP that came out after SP3
was published :

shell32.dll Version - 6.0.2900.5512
Size - 8.06 MB (8,461,312 bytes)

xpspres3.dll Version - 5.1.2600.5512
Size - 673 KB (689,152 bytes)

Locate the above files, right click them and choose Properties.
Click the Version tab, then File Version to see the Version of the
files. The Size is on the General page.

No . none Ativirus was installed and run.

I can't know . I have SP3 installed withoutany vpn problem since months then
I run Windows Update and a huge of fix was installed . I suppose the 943460
was on these.

KB943460 was installed *before* SP3 was. So, if it 'broke' VPN it did
so back in July. Obviously, that's not the situation here.

Since the files you posted are the correct Versions post0install of SP3,
shell32.dll and xpspres3.dll, then suggest you uninstall and hide any
offering of KB943460 as it's *** not *** needed.
