Remove specific hotfix from XP SP2 ???

Hans

HI!

I have a problem with a specific hotfix and a NETGEAR WLAN USB
adapter.
NETGEAR suggests to remove the hotfix Q815485
(http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101214.asp). the problem
is, that if you installed SP2 as one piece, there is no possibility to
remove the hotfix via Control panel Add/Remove programs.

any help with this would be greatly appreciated,
thanx in advance!

best regards,
Hans

You've got 2 choices:
1) Reformat and install WinXP SP1 and all hotfixes (except Q815485) or
2) Go buy another WLAN adapter, preferable PCI instead of USB, as PCI
is more reliable than USB when accessing a WAN/LAN i.e. network.

Did your wireless driver fail when you installed hotfix Q815485
under Win XP SP1? That said, look at the answers in the
following link from a broadband forum. SOme of the solutions at
the end of the thread may solve your problem.

I didnt install the hotfix separately, instead I downloaded the whole
XP SP2 package and installed it.

I couldnt find the link you mentioned, please post it again,
thanx in advance!
