Hi

I have a problem:

On my main XP login, (very much software installed) There appears to
be a little instability that creeps into the system afte 24 hours or so

being left on continuously.

On a new login (hardly anything installed) the system will remain
stable forever ( to all intents and purposes)

Can anyone provide a quick and easy way af determining which software
is causing the problem without uninstalling each package one by one and

waiting 24 hrs (ill do that if necessary!)

The symptoms of the instability are strange icons, unresponsive mouse
or blank screen with flashing contents of what appears to be the "real"

screen "underneath" as the mouse moves.

When I go to switch the system off, during the shut down process the
computer's screen seems to return to normal.

Thankyou

Assuming you've done virus scans, and spyware scans, these with several
different apps eg Adaware & SpyBot
Try msconfig, disable all start ups and test.
If no go msconfig hide all MS and disable the rest and test
Also maybe run in safe mode and test
