Hi, I have 3 computers (all running Win XP Pro) hooked up to my Linksys
router, 1st PC is a desktop that is hardwired to the router, the 2nd PC is a
desktop with a wireless PCI card and the 3rd PC is a laptop with wireless
build in. They all connect to the internet with no problems.

The problem I have is that the Laptop can see and use all shared files on
all 3 computers, the 2nd PC can only access the laptop and the 2nd PC files
and the 1st PC can only access the laptop and the 1st PC shared files.

The other interesting thing is that the laptop when you open My Network
Places, it opens a new window and you can see all of the network files in
that window for the Laptop, 1st PC and the 2nd PC, the 2nd PC when you open
My Network Places it open a new window and it only shows the network name
even if you click on it, it still shows the network name no files, but when
you click on the View Workgroup Computers (to the left) it open a new window
and it shows the laptop and the 2nd PC workgroup name and you can access
those shared files, the 1st PC when you click on My Network Places and the
window opens it displays at the top all shared files for the 1st PC and then
below a line that says Unspecified it shows the laptop and the 2nd PC but
when you click on them it open a blank screen, now when you click on the View
Workgroup Computers it open a new window that displays the Laptop and the 1st
PC network names and you can open those files.

How can I fix this so it works the correct way?

Gary,

The most likely cause of your problem might be a misconfigured or overlooked
personal firewall, or other security component. There are several other
possibilities too. Read this article please.

Next, let's look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer, so
we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):
