Unsecuring a database

I just went through the process of unsecuring an Access 2000 database. I
think it worked, but I had a minor problem because when I secured it in the
first place I made the new workgroup file the default workgroup file. So
when I tried to start Access again, I had to insert the Office disk so that
it could get a new System.mdw file, or so it could tell access where to find
the original, or something like that.

I've got the Litwin/Getz/Gunderloy Developer's Handbook set for Access 2002,
and it tells you where to find the default workgroup file in the registry,
but apparently that information changed when Access went from 2000 to 2002,
because the path that they specify doesn't exist on my machine. Is the
default workgroup information stored in the registry in 2000? If so, where
is it, and would that have been a way to restore the default System.mdw file
to the default workgroup file? If not, is there a way to go back to the
original default workgroup file without using the Office disk after you've
secured a database and told the wizard to make the new workgroup file the
default?

Thanks,
Rich

Yes, in 2000 use Start, Run, wrkgadm.exe. That will show you the workgroup
you are joined to by default. You can click on Join and rejoin the standard
system.mdw file.
